Commons Election Act - Yatesman - 28-09-2011

Be it resolved by The Emperor's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Temporal in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Elections shall be held every four (4) months.

The first election shall be held on December 1st of the year in which this bill is enacted

Elections shall use a proportional voting system.

In elections, representation in the Commons will be determined based on the number of votes that a particular political party receives. The party shall then receive a percentage of seats in the Commons that is as close a mathematically possible to the percent of the vote they received in an election.

On a ballot for election of the Commons all political parties that express a desire to fill seats in the House of Commons, regardless of the size of the party, shall be listed.

It shall be the responsibility of the political parties to determine who will fill the seats allocated to them.

Political parties may not discriminate in their appointment process in any way.

In the event that a political party, due to its size, is unable to fill all of the seats allocated to it, then the party in question may allocate their seats to another political party to fill for them. It shall be left entirely to the discretion of the political party originally granted the seats to determine which other party, or parties, shall receive their empty seats and who many seats that the other party/parties shall receive.

Should a party that gave seats it was unable to fill to another party grows and have enough members to fill all of its previous vacancies, then the new party shall be permitted to require the party/parties granted its formerly empty seats to be filled by the new party members of the party originally granted the seats.

Each voter shall permitted only one vote in Commons elections
